Day 14 – Copenhagen, Denmark – Billung, Denmark – Trittau, Germany

As we had an adhoc small party last night, I was so tired in the morning. But I was motivated, and relaxed, and recharged myself for a new trip back to Germany. 🙂

I prepared my bag and box, and I had help by Bence who brought me down my bag to the motorcycle. We discussed that soon, when he will be in Budapest, we will continue and I said goodbye for him. He went to work, and I started my trip first to the center of Copenhagen. Two years ago I loved Copenhagen, Denmark very much, it is so authentic, and so friendly city. A place where I would really live in the future.

I rode through the city, and wanted to see the harbor again, it was so nice as I could remember from my previous journey.

I visited Freetown Christiania, Copenhagen, Denmark again. As I was afraid of the safety of my motorcycle there, I just stopped for a short time, look around again, but I was not allowed to take a picture there. Moreover, I put my GoPro into my box, just to prevent all issues with the visitors there. 😀

Later I continued my trip to the dock area, where I stopped to take some photo, and continued my ride to Germany.

On the way back to Funen Island from Zealand Island, I put back my camera, because I wanted the record the route on the bridge.

In addition, when I was riding to Copenhagen, Denmark two days before I saw a table about Wiking Museum, then I saw a huge advertisement about Panzer Museum. I couldn’t skip it, never ever.

I changed my ride to Panzermuseum  East in Slagelse, Denmark. 🙂 This museum is mainly about the military units of the Soviet are after the World War 2.

Some days ago one of my friend was joking about visiting LegoLand. Quite easily I got back to the peninsula of Denmark, where I turned to north just to visit LegoLand in Billund, Denmark.

It was so nice, although I didn’t spent to much time there, but lots of (crying) kids and bright-eyed adults from around the world. 🙂

I continued my trip back to Trittau, Germany

It was not so interesting on the way back, unfortunately. However I was riding around when I had to stop, because although in Denmark everywhere the weather was so nice, on the continent it was terrible. At least around Hamburg, Germany it was raining, and there was so many lightning and dark clouds in front of me. Although it was not the best decision, but on the emergency lane I stopped and put on my raincoat, just to be safe. It was a good decision, because 5 mins later I was riding in a very heavy rain for 30-40 mins. I turned on my emergency lights and went as there wouldn’t  have been any difference. 😀

I arrived to the house of Susanne in Trittau around 6PM, where I could have some rest and walk around the village. It was so nice, and ate some Italian meal again. 😀

In Denmark unfortunately I got another addiction, which was the Lost in space on Netflix, so I watched all night long. Perhaps it was not the best decision, but it was so entertaining, so I just simpy watched from episode to episode. 😀

Maybe around 2-3AM I got asleep. 😀

Day 13 – Copenhagen, Denmark

I don’t know why but I got up early, so I saw Laura, Bence’s girlfriend to go to work, and Bence got sick so this day was about chill for me.

Could you find my motorcycle? 😀
We watched a movie, and then I went to the Amager Strandpark to continue my relaxing day. I ride his cycle, so was still on two tires, and spent the whole afternoon on the beach. 😀
First of all I swam in the North Sea, which was the first sea which I got into. 🙂 I had been to Croatia, but I didn’t have time to get into the sea at that time. Now I didn’t have any excuse. It was not so cold anyway, I liked it very much. Just those shells everywhere. 😀
Later Laura and Bence joined to me, so we could relax all together on the beach. It was funny, we could talk a lot, and chill, obviously. 🙂
The main thing is that my skin got burned and dried (because of the sunshine and hot weather), what I thing not so many people can say at home. 🙂
Later we got back home, and I made some hot dogs for my hosts for some compensation. 😀

I was thinking about the rest of my trip, and I was a bit afraid of Sunday plans to ride home North Italy in one day when I wanted to enjoy the road at the same time. Thus Bence and Laura convinced me to ride a circle instead of a moon-shape, so I changed my reservations for Germany, Switzerland and Italy to Poland instead. It was quite easy, and I could manage my private rooms in 1-2 hours. It was quite obvious, I am easily persuadable. 😀

We talked a lot, and perhaps around 1-2AM we could go to sleep, cannot remember, time just gone. 😀

Day 12 – Trittau, Germany – Copenhagen, Denmark

On Monday morning I was so relaxed and ready for my next run finally to Denmark.

I had so much time, so I had a shower again, easily packed my bag and box, prepared my motorbike for my next ride, and finally I had some time to drink a coffee with my host, We talked a bit, and around 9AM I could start my journey to Copenhagen, Denmark.

I went up to the motorway to shorten my ride to get to Danish area. I think I rode though one of the most beautiful view of the landscape from a bridge near Borgstedt, Germany. Unfortunately I could not take a picture  as it was a motorway, but somehow later I will, somehow. 🙂 It was so nice. 🙂

Unfortunately near Borgstedt, Germany there was a rain, so I had to stop at the first parking area to put on my raincoat while it was around 28°C. But finally even I was in an oven, it was much better when it started to rain. In 40 mins I could also get off the raincoat as I rode through the rainy area. 🙂

I arrived to Denmark, especially the area of Hammelev, Denmark when I thought the motorway was enough, I wanted to see the buildings and people there, so came down from motorway, and started my journey on simple roads. It was so beautiful, but as I decided to avoid motorway, the GPS immediately routed me back to Finshav, Denmark which would have been additional 2 hours trip, and I would have arrived to the same place just on a bypass road.

Therefore after 20-30 mins I turned back, and continued my way on motorway to Funen Island  (middle one) via Little Belt Bridge to Jutland Island. The view from the bridge was phenomenal, so nice to see seas everywhere.

I arrived to Funen Island where I stopped for a bit for refreshments. 🙂 There was some clouds so I had to check what is happening here. Nothing, just all clouds from Norway went to Central Europe, but it didn’t give any rain to Funen Island. 😀 I was afraid a bit to smoke because of the dry weather, but I could find an area where it was safe, so I let it go. 😀

Quite soon I continued my road to Copenhagen, Denmark, but on the motorway I just saw a table with Wiking Museum advertisement in 10 km what I couldn’t skip. 😀
Anyway I decided to ride on all bigger islands, so the time just arrived to leave motorway. The roads were in so good condition, long roads through hills filled with wheat. 🙂
Finally I arrived to Wiking Museum at Ladby, Denmark. I could see an original Wiking Ship, Ladby Ship, from 9th-10th century. It was interesting. 🙂
And anyway the landscape was also so nice. 🙂
I got some raven feathers from the curator as the symbol of the Wiking warriors here in Denmark.
It was nice and I could have some rest so I went back to the motorway and was really looking forward for the Great Belt Bridge which is one of the most beautiful and third longest suspension  bridge of the world, the first outside of Asia. 😀
Oh it was so amazing. 🙂
I arrived to Zealand Island where I paid the toll for the bridge (125 DK) and it was just one hour to get to Copenhagen, Denmark.
I didn’t want to waste so much time on the main island, so without any stop I just rode to the flat of my friend in Copenhagen, Denmark. We hadn’t met for 1.5 years and I could only stay for two nights so, I didn’t have so much time. But I will, when I will be on the way back to Trittau, Germany.
Around 7PM I arrived to Amager Vest area of Copenhagen, Denmark, and finally we met with Bence. Awesome. 😀
We parked my bike to the cycle park and get into the flat finally. It was so good to put off my leather clothes, it was around 32°C all around Denmark. There way no cloud at all, anyway I arrived to the warmest summer in the last 100 years to North Europe, so I was so happy. 😀
And I was a bit hungry 😀
Thanks Bence for the suggestion, it was very delicious. 🙂

Day 11 – Guoda, Netherlands – Trittau, Germany

Next morning I was very tired, I felt I had to get used to daily runs again, but had already known what to expect.

I drunk a coffee at the garden what I found only in the morning. Unfortunately I didn’t meet my host, Dafna, but it was still a really friendly place to sleep one night.

I packed everything again, and put back to my bike. As there was no-one at home, I checked two-three times all of my belongings before I closed the door, because I left the key on the ledge next to the kitchen. 🙂

Unfortunately the most important rope was torn which fastenated my bag, so I had to buy one later.

It was around 8AM when I could start my run to Germany, just one stop before Denmark. 😀

I decided to avoid motorways as I had enough time to get to my accommodation around Hamburg, Germany, so I selected the simple road instead. Although the limit was quite low, I think it was still enjoyable. The view was phenomenal, Hills and plains changing each other, but so wonderful villages. The only thing which made me afraid is the speed bumps. The first time when we met was a bit funny, as if you looked them they are just painted. But no, it is 10-15 cm high anyway, so I jumped a bit first time as I rode with around 50 km/h. 😀 Anyway it was good, but I slowed down later because I configured its suspensions to strongest, so it was not the best to feel. 😀 Not a problem, the countryside compensated me. 🙂

I stopped at a petrol station to get my tank full of fuel, and bought a new tension rope for my bag.

The weather was so nice, it was around 26-30°C without any cloud. 🙂

I continued, and arrived to Germany. I knew that this area I will love very much. I was right. The roads are in so good condition everywhere.

But there was one thing what I forgot. Just to look at my GPS. I ran into a Speed Camera outside of any town, but I rode faster than the limit (around 120 km/h at 100 km/h limit), so a picture was taken while I was riding. (I am still waiting for the fine, we will see.)

As a result, obviously I kept the limit everywhere, but after one hour riding in Germany I felt in a crossroad around Bakum, Germany that I wanted to try the motorway where there is no speed limit.

I stopped to eat something, refresh myself. 🙂

So I went up and rode to Hamburg, Germany on Road 1. It was very interesting, three lanes, but left lane was only used by powerful cars, sometimes by me. 😀 middle lane for us, riding around 130 km/h, and right lane for especially trucks.

Around 8PM I arrived to Trittau, Germany where I was shocked by the house. It was so beautiful at a beautiful environment. I was so happy, and Susanne welcomed me immediately. I could park in her private garage, and prepared my bike. Again, you know, Chain Lube.

My room was on the upper floor, a huge private room, family photos and books everywhere. The house was full of pictures of the kids, who are now adults with kids. But Susanne was very friendly and lovely.

She suggested me a very good Italian restaurant close to the house, so I ate there. I didn’t regret it, it was very good. 🙂

Around 10PM I got back to the house and could go to sleep. I was not tired at all, but had to have rest before my trip to arrive to my friend in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Day 10 – London, United Kingdom – Dover, United Kingdom – Belgium – Guoda, Netherlands

It was Saturday morning, the next day to continue my trip around Europe. I had a shower, walked for my motorbike to my office’s parking area, and rode back to the hotel.

I received an SMS from DFDS that I should have expected high traffic around  the checking so they proposed 90 mins to arrive earlier. So to prevent any problem, I was in a hurry a bit. I packed everything into my bag and box, put it back on my motorbike, and say goodbye for my beatiful hotel.

I leaved the area of London, and immediately felt that I am happy, because I am on the road again.

I stopped just for some minutes at the border of the city to get some petrol, when I was shocked. I received a Danish message from my host in Rotterdam, that she cannot provide me accomodation, just she forgot to update the availability of the room on Airbnb, so instantly I reserved another place, but premilinary I asked confirmation from the host if it was available or not. Fortunately the host replied in 10 mins, so my destination changed from Rotterdam, Netherlands to Guoda, Netherlands, just 10-20 km far from each other. My initial shock had gone, so I could continue my trip to the ferry, without any problem.

I arrived to Dover, where I hoped that I could get up to an earlier ferry, but my original ferry was the only one, and also the traffic was so slow around the checkin, so I felt it was okay, I wait until it’s my turn. In 40 mins I could check in to the ferry, but it was Saturday afternoon, I think it is acceptable. My only problem was to wait in the sunshine another 45 mins for getting onto the ferry. It was so hot, 34°C, unbelievable.

But I was not sad, because I could talk to new riders, especially I became friend with Mac Toyoda, who rode from Japan to Europe in 2015 with his bike, and every year he comes back to ride around most beautiful places in Europe. He originally started his trip in Germany this year, rode to Ireland, and at that time he was heading to Norway. I invited him to Hungary, and will be happy to meet him again later on.

I, or we were on the ferry. : )

I ate the same again, some Lasagne, which was failsafe for the rest of my trip today.

We arrived to Calais, France in 90 mins, so I could proceed my trip to Guoda, Netherlands. It was around 18PM when I could get out of the traffic in Calais, France, so I didn’t have other option than go up to the motorway at least for the first part of my trip for today.

I rode to Belgium where I could have some rest, and where I realized and look around. there was only one thing which I didn’t calculated with previously. The time zone change, so I am one hour ahead to London, UK, so I didn’t have another option, than continue my ride on motorway until Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Then I continued my ride on motorway, and without any stop I arrived to the area of Rotterdam, Netherlands. It was one of my favorite place, everywhere awesome buildings and beautiful bridges. 🙂

I turned to Guoda, Netherlands and finally in 30 mins I arrived to my place. Unfortunaly it was around 9:30PM, so I just applied Chain Lube, locked my motorbike to a lamp post on street, and got into the house. There was no-one at home, the key was under the “left” plant. 😀

It was a very friendly detached house, with 2 floors. Obviously my private room was on the top floor, so it was so good bring my bag and box up there. Not a problem, it was a very lovely place, but the mosquitos what I hated by the way. 😀 Dafna house

And …. sleep 😀

Day 6-9 – Working and relaxing in London, United Kingdom

After riding 2500 km through perhaps the most beautiful roads of Alps, visiting Austria, Italy, Switzerland and France, I needed some time to rest and recharge myself to continue my trip around Europe.

I worked some days in London office, which was so exciting again after one year. Besides that I had some time to walk and ride around London which was so exciting experience.

And could eat some so delicious meal around the city. 🙂

The Temple Brew House
Steak & Co

Riding outside of towns and cities are also good, but the big challenge is riding in one of the biggest city of the world. At the beginning it was a bit weird, but I could catch up the heartbeat of the city soon, and it was so good. 🙂

My only concern was about parking in London. In Budapest you can almost park everywhere with your motorcycle, but in London although there are lots of solo motorcycle parking slot all around the city, you can only park for short period of the time. Therefore first I parked in a secure parking place around British Museum, but finally I got permission to park at my office’s parking place. It was Ł32.60 per day for my motorcycle, so finally I really liked the idea to park at our company’s place. 🙂

Wednesday to Friday it was maily about working, but I visited very nice places and restaurants. I prepared myself very much and relaxed a lot, so on Saturday I could leave hotel quite relaxed state.

As I planned my ride to preliminary only to London, but on Friday I called my friend, living in Copenhagen, Denmark, if he could offer accommodation for me in Denmark. He invited me finally, so I simultaneously planned my trip back to Hungary through Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, and finally Hungary. Well, it would have not been a circle, rather a Moon-shape, but after hundreds of motorway of France I wanted to get back to the hills and mountains, because it was much exciting for me.

Later I changed my mind, obviously. 😀

Therefore on Airbnb I reserved and booked all of my accomodation in 4 hours, so I think the only risky part was handled.

Day 5 – Paris, France – Calais, France – London, United Kingdom

On Tuesday morning I got up early, because I was so motivated to leave France, and finally get onto British Island with my motorcycle. Not so many rider from Hungary can say this I assume, I wanted to accomplish one of my dream. So I was confident, my DFDS ferry was planned to leave Calais, France at 13:55PM, so I had enough time to get there. But did not want to waste time on waiting, so I packed everything again, and leave my room.

It was a bit early, around 8:30AM, so I decided to put on my raincoat because of the cooler temperature, and got up to motorway again.

I was very fast, and with several coffee stops I arrived and checked into Calais, France 12:20PM, I was immediately sent to 12:25PM ferry. 😀 Coool!

I had only one single question, when I went through the Customs Control and ID check, am I on British territory, so is ride side changed to left already or not. I didn’t know, so said yes, no-one else was around as there was only 5 mins to get on the ferry. I rode on left side, but at the first roundabout I realized it is still French territory, so rode a bit improperly :’D  No problem, learned for my whole life 😀

Finally I was on hold at the parking line for another 6-8 mins, so I was a bit frustrated that ferry may leave me behind, but finally as the last guest I got up to the ferry. Everything was okay, departure was successful, and I was on the way to British Island. Great!

and some Lasagne 🙂
We successfully docked in Port of Dover, UK
48 km/h – 97 km/h – 113 km/h
I started my first kilometers riding on left side, and got more and more familiar with the concept. On motorcycle it was not so hard, the only thing what I felt a bit interesting is just turning right with big curve. But first time felt that right hand rule is much obvious, as drivers are also sit on right side, so it is much closer for me to look at.

In United Kingdom I decided to avoid motorways as I would not planned so much run there, I had to experience as much as I can on these roads. I did not regret it, experienced that feeling what I felt playing Rally games so many years ago on British roads. Tiny roads with brick wall on one side, and fence on the other side. So lovely, and every meter reminded me to these epic moments of my childhood. 🙂

Finally I drove around 120 km in UK when I arrived to London, UK, and could experience riding left lane very much. It was so good to try, and challenging at the beginning. I enjoyed it very much.

Finally I arrived to my destination to Club Quarters Hotel, Lincoln’s Inn Field in London.

I used Chain Lube again, and carried my bag and box into my hotel room quite soon. I was so happy that there was plenty lock anchor installed in front of the hotel, just for solo motorcycles.
I locked my motorcycle with my safety chain, and walked a big in the town. 🙂
Finally I became so tired, walked like 8-10 km to refresh my memories from Business Trip last year. 😀
On the way back I reviewed parking again around the hotel, and decided to put my bike into a preferred safe parking house around British Museum. It was extremely expensive, but parking in London anyway is a so expensive thing, a luxury.
Finally when everything was done, I went back and could have some rest in a so good hotel, and relax for some work in the next couple of days, just to prepare myself to proceed with my trip to go forward, 😉

Day 4 – Lausanne, Switzerland – Paris, France

On Monday morning I got up around 8AM, was a bit tired, but could relax and prepare myself for another longer run to get to Paris, France.

Again, packed everything back and left Lausanne, but I had to buy Chain Lube, so I visited a Yamaha Store somewhere around. I saw those models too what I didn’t know if I will ever see in Hungary, like a Yamaha YZF-R1M.
I was successful, got a new one, and got up to the motorway to go to France.
I went through the border at Creux, Switzerland and was so happy as France started with a beautiful serpentine immediately. But after some minutes I became disappointed by Average Speed Camera Zones which was 30 km along the whole serpentine and another 20 km more. The average speed was limited to 70 km/h so along km long strait roads it was so boring and of course there was no petrol station or any restaurant to stop to grab some coffee. In addition, between the mountains the temperature was around 18-21°C, so I was cold, too, and could not shorten time to any better place.
Fine, I got through, but until Vaux-lest-Prés, France I met several Speed Limit Zones, so I decided to continue on motorway, unfortunately. Anyway I knew that will not like France, but it was rather because of old intention when I had been to Paris long time ago.

The weather was beautiful, no clouds, no significant traffic, so could ride without so many problem. 🙂

I grabbed some fuel at Venoy, France and could talk to some French bikers. They were surprised that a Hungarian rider is somewhere around there 😀

The traffic was still okay, but when I approach to Paris, I realized that so many motorbike is on the road, and they are so pushy to other cars on the road, so at the beginning I left them to do what they generally do, riding around cars, trucks with high speed and hoped for no problem. Later I joined to them, but with much higher attention to others on the road, because I would have liked to get home finally. It was okay, but I could not imagine myself riding around Paris for more time. They are so opinionated and violent to others. I was horned at least 10 times because I was careful to others. I let them go or forced them to wait, because I will not assimilate that much. That’s life, did not expect any other from France.
Finally in a huge traffic jam I arrived to Center Paris, and could stop for some rest near Tower Eiffel. 🙂
I saw several nationalities there, especially a Buddhist monk asked if he could take a photo of me. Why not? 🙂
It was interesting, but my old experiences came up when I saw the guys walking around with key rings hanging a mini Tower Eiffel. Not surprising (again!), Hungarians. Who else? €1 for me talking in Hungarian, €2-3 for English speaking tourists. Come on!
Finally got back onto the motorcycle and went to an external district of Paris, to Athis-Mons, France
My accomodation was at Ana and Bens flat. It was so nice, a small flat. I liked them, because we could talk sometime and could congratulate them for winning World Cup. 🙂
Motorcycle prepared, as usual, and as I had to leave on the road, just applied my extra safety chain on my cycle. 😉
Fortunately I had direct visibility to my bike from my private room, so I could regularly check it, but finally it turned out no-one touched my bike during the night. I was too paranoid, just because of my feeling generally of France. Sorry, but I don’t like France, but needed to get through.
I had a shower, grabbed some pizza from around, and finally could go to sleep after a so long trip on motorway. 😉

Day 3 – Finkenberg, Austria – Reschensee, Italy – Lausanne, Switzerland

Perhaps it was too early to got asleep lot afternoon, because in the morning I woke up at 5AM, so I started to prepare and pack my stuff by 6AM, but it was a bit raining, so I waited. Unfortunately it was still raining at 7AM, so I just simply install back everything to my bike, I put on my raincoat and leave around 7:30AM. Unfortunately I could not dring coffee yet, and also had to refill my tank, so spent another 30 mins in Finkenberg. I did not regret, because I met several nice Austrian men who although could speak neither English nor Hungarian, but with signs we had a very funny conversation. 😀
As it was still raining, I didn’t have no more chance, I had to get into it. I took around an hour to get through, but my raincoat was okay, I didn’t feel either cold or wet, so I was satisfied with it. 🙂
Last night I was talking with my friend, Ferenc Perjés, the founder of RBiker.com riding tracking application, who was on Saturday around Stelvio Pass, Tyrol, Italy and I was riding around Landeck, Switzerland when I started to think about visit it too. I am on holiday, and on a journey to visit more and more beautiful place, and also it is one the best place for Bend Hunters, so I just turned to Tyrol on my way. 🙂
I passed through the border of Italy and Austria, and felt immediately the culture of Italian people. Thin roads, old houses, small churches everywhere and classic feeling of Godfather era! 😀
I stopped at the Reschensee, Italy to take some pictures and talk to other bikers. 🙂
( and the newly bought hat )

I was heading to Stelvio Pass, but unfortunately at Val Müstar, Switzerland I didn’t check my GPS, and realized only at Tschierv, Switzerland again, wanted to drive me around mountain of Piz Murtaöl back to Stelvio Pass. I stopped to get some fuel and decided to come back later to Tyrol, Italy this year, because I cannot get around Lake Geneva at 8PM, and also I could not enjoy that much the rest of the road to Lausanne, Switzerland if make another bypasses.
I was not disappointed, because I had already ridden on beautiful serpentines, and arrived to Pass dal Fuorn, Switzerland.
It was a very nice and exciting serpentine, I loved it very much. 😉
As I couldn’t buy vignette for toll roads at previous petrol station, I stopped again, but at least I could have lunch around in the afternoon 😀
Now I enabled toll roads on my GPS and provided me a 5 hours trip to Lausanne, so it was okay for me, around 8-9PM I can successfully arrive at my next accommodation. Agreed and accepted, that now I will need to use motorway, but several years before I had already driven on these roads, knew that they are not boring at all, and drive through nice places, as well.
Entered to Switzerland. 🙂
Then I left petrol station, and arrived to Sagliains, Switzerland where I had to realize that it is a 35 km tunnel where I had to get up to a train through a rain tunnel. Fine, just bought a vignette for motorway, but as the train leaved in 4 mins, I paid additional €30 for the train, and got up to an open wagon. First I was open-minded, took off my helmet, earplugs, and thought it was fine. I was in between two smaller lorry, but they were just looking at me that with a motorcycle I am on this train. Fine, what could happen. 😀 In the first 3-5 mins it was fine, a light wind was there, but I just had fun. But the train speed up to 100 km/h, so it became very windy and cold. I was afraid to touch my helmet, because if the wind got it, it lost it in the tunnel. Finally I could put ear plugs and helmet on, and finally took a seat. Another 25 mins, a bit cold, dark and massive shocking of the wagon and arrived to Vereinatunnel Klosters, Switzerland. Finally, I remember back as needed to try once, but was enough once in my life with motorbike :’D
[Always on Road – Switzerland – Rain Tunnel]
But the view was beautiful at train station compensated me. 🙂
I drunk some water and got up to the motorway, heading to Lausanne on Road 28.
I stopped at Mols, Switzerland to eat and drink something in the afternoon.
I could only feel that I love Switzerland, it is so beautiful everywhere! 🙂
I stayed here for an hour maximum, because I was so shocked by the view. I had also had some chitchat with other bikers, and leave the area on Road 3.
I knew that there will be some rain around Lake Geneva, therefore I looked WeatherRadar frequently and hoped I will got just a light rain around there. I was just 40 km far from Lausanne, when I saw the first signs of any serios clouds, so I put on my raincoat again while it is 28°C, it was so hot, but leather clothes cannot dry in one night, could not risk to get wet.
Finally it looked nice, so I was happy, and I knew that Lausanne is just 15 km far when I get into a tunnel around Chexbres, but I was not prepared what I saw on the other side of the mountain.
There was no signs of anything on the entering side. It was a huge storm, where you can only see for 3 m far from you, so strong winds and the traffic is almost stopped. I turned on indication lights, and like a windscreen wiper, I bypassed all cars, trucks and unknowns objects. Some of them what I couldn’t identify. 😀
I felt my raincoat is over, the rain is in my jacket, fine, just get through it. Finally I arrived to my destination, get off my bike, but it was not familiar, something was not okay. GPS corrected my original French road-name to another one, and drove me to wrong place. Fine, almost run out of petrol, so just find a petrol station and stopped to find out if go to a hotel next to the petrol station (~€100-150 per night) or try to find real booked accommodation. It was still raining, but not as heavily as before, so I gave another try for it, so corrected to proper address and in 20 mins I get to the house around at 21:30PM.
I took off my stuff, parked under the balcony, and here the host, Mario offered me to use dryer machine for my raincoat. The leather jacket was not so wet, so with a hairdryer in 10 mins I dry it. So finally I was happy, a bit shocked by the experience in the storm, but was okay. 🙂 As I mentioned previously, needed to try once in my life 😀 Just my relatives do not know! :’D
We managed my clothes to dry, and could have a shower at least.
At that point I got shocked:
Raining is over, and by midnight all cloud disappeared. 😐
At night I talked a lot with my hosts, Mario was very kind and helpful, but I was a bit embarrassed by sitting next to a 150 cm cænnæbis plant. 🙂
Note: I had never tried and don’t want to try it ever, because I am addicted to smoking cigarette, no need any other addiction 😀
Finally we watched the final match of FIFA World Cup 2018 from record which was contested by France and Croatia. France won so I was so interested in the next day when I will be at France. 🙂
I went to sleep around midnight and felt much better than 2-3 hours before. 🙂

Day 2 – Stiegl, Austria -Finkenberg, Austria

I found Haus Ingeborg a very nice place to have some rest after the first so long day, and I woke up a bit late after the first night. Fortunately there was breakfast included into the accommodation, therefore I could get some delicious rolls and ham before my first day of Bend Hunting. 🙂

I packed everything back to my waterproof bag and into my box, installed them back on my bike which was in safe place for the night. 🙂

I said goodbye and thanked everything to Ingeborg, and started my ride to Innsbruck. I knew that the run planned for second day would not have been planned so long, but I expected much more fun than on the first day. 🙂

I just rode 5 km when I was shocked by the view, immediately stopped and took some picture. 🙂

I got some fuel and started my trip to Grossglockner via beautiful serpentines through.
Fortunately, around the petrol station there was a drugstore, where I could finally buy a Fenistil gel, so my bite could be handled by now. 😀

Map for second day:
And finally I arrived to Grossglockner glaciers 😀
It was a bit windy, but not so cold. I loved, it was so beautiful. Unfortunately I did not get down to visit glacier closer, but next time when I don’t have a plan to get to the next point on time, I am going to do it. 😉
and the serpentines 😀
I bought some souvenirs and a hat. I like it, typical Adam stylish. 🙂
I rode sometimes back and forth on the serpentine, and finally left the toll road, heading to Finkenberg, where I had my accommodation at Franz’s house. When I tried to find the house I got lost, because I didn’t look at my GPS at right time, and didn’t turn right once, therefore it calculated a route with 25 km far to turn back. I felt it was not okay, so I checked my route, and finally corrected my ride, so without extra 40 km, I arrived to my place to have some rest.
I applied Chain Lube again, motorcycle was prepared for another run the other day. 🙂
The house was rather a complex of football field, but it was okay for me, just one night. When I get into the flat there was no-one at home, just a huge dog, who I had to hug to let me in. I am serious, it was written for me as details to get into the flat. 😀 So I did it, and finally he let me in. Unfortunately I arrived early (6PM), so I have a shower and forced myself to sleep as next day it will be a so long run to get to Switzerland. 🙂
Finally I ate my cookies, and got asleep.
